Madina Lake "Attics To Eden"

it's almost impossible to discuss a new record without sounding super cliche but i'll give it a shot! for the last 2 or 3 weeks we've been back home in Chicago trying to adjust to normal life. It's weird but the saving grace is that every day from 10am to about 7pm we've been writing like crazy. This is what we love more than anything and it's pouring out. The record is tentatively called "ATTICS TO EDEN". I believe we have 7 songs fully demod and 11 more to finish up over the next few months as we secured a Sept. 1st start date to record it. We picked David Bendeth to produce it because he's worked on some amazing bands and his records always sound incredible. Ive never been so excited in my life about these new songs. I should warn you .. this isn't going to sound like "From Them Through Us To You". It's part 2 of a 3 - record story and we've managed to tie it all together so far thematically but sonically it will be some of the heaviest, some of the weirdest and some of the more pop sounding songs to date. As we did on FTTUTY we've tuned out every single thing around us to write it. Honest music is our number 1 policy and we won't ever let anything from the outside world pervert that. We hope you are all amazing as usual and for those going to Download on Saturday, June 14th, we're taking some time off of writing to visit one of the coolest places on earth... and remember to party like it's the 80s again - oh and btw we'll be posting song titles and descriptions throughout the process starting shortly

hello kids!
we've been a bit underground lately and i wanted to fill you all in on what we're up to..
so we had planned to shoot a video for "Pandora" immediately after our last tour with Aiden. however not only did I have to get 6 stitches on the bottom of my foot 3 days before but another project came up (which we'll tell you about soon) that we had to finish on a tight deadline. so - we postponed the shoot, raced back home, rented a small church on the west side of Chicago and got to work. we had about 5 days in the church where we finished that project and started working on our new record. we rolled through about 5 songs, having the time of our lives and then bailed to go on tour with Story of the Year. On this tour we're playing our asses off then getting a few hotel rooms (one room for the portable studio one for TV, sleep). we're becoming obsessed with our new record which is a good thing i think lol. So were still doing a video for Pandora i promise but the old mansion we were gonna shoot it in is not gonna happen because our schedule is simply too busy. The video we are doing will be ready soon! The SOTY tour is one of the best we've ever done - they rule and we're having a blast. we've got some festival dates then 3 weeks on Warped then we hope to get into the studio to make our 2nd record. You're continued support is so important to us and so appreciated. So far our 2nd record is everything i've ever dreamed of with regards to being a musician. It's hard to think about anything else but alas we seem to be addicted to touring so we will just have to finish up on the road- it's due out early 2009! ... love you all
